Hi all,

How do I stop power users in a domain in windows 2000 from adding printers and/or doing anything with printing exept to view printers????

Are you referring to local, or network printers that they are adding? If you have AD - best way is to use Group policy.

In Windows XPSP1, they changed it to not allow power users to add local printers. You can also edit their registry remotely on windows 2000 (or XP) to change this. Go to:

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Providers\LanMan Print Services\Servers"
3.Click edit menu select New - DWORD Value. Enter string:"AddPrinterDrivers"
4. click OK
5. click on the value and set to 1 (0=enable)
6. click OK
7. Reboot

Give it a shot.
