How do i prevent an user to send email to the Internet but not internally?...Outlook98\Exchange 5.5 sp4

In Exchange Administrator, go into Connections\Internet Mail Service and click on Delivery Restrictions. All you need to do is add the mailbox you wish to block to the 'reject messages from' window.

You may need to stop and restart the IMC before it works though.
If someone annoys you, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you'll be a mile away from them, and you'll have their shoes )

Will the user get an error message telling that he/she cant send email to the internet. I have done a test for myself but it seems that it is still sending email to the internet....???

I have just received a reply back from an Internet account...so i'm still able to send email to the internet even though i have added my name to the list as suggested. And i did stop and start my IMS.
Any other ideas??
thanks

Dont you just love Exchange sometimes!

This method definitely works as I use it myself, but occasionally Exchange takes its time before it start implementing the block.

I usually just wait a few hours, or more commonly, stop all Exchange services and then restart them (drastic maybe, but I find it's the kick up the a%$e Exchange needs) ;) If someone annoys you, walk a mile in their shoes. That way you'll be a mile away from them, and you'll have their shoes )

Just remove their SMTP Mail Address from the Properties Page. Works great without stopping any services

Thanks brontosaurus..thought i was getting the wrong advice.
I realy need to sort this problem of blocking Internet mail but not internally. Surely someone out there knows exactly what to do????
I knew about the delivery restrictions on a mailbox but it doesn't seem to work. I only want to block only certain users and not the whole domain/site.

Bremmerz was referring to the Delivery Restrictions Tab on the IMS , not the user mailbox. Did you make the changes there?
