Hi,
I have a situation where from time to time one of my services for some unknown reason times out. I was wondering if there was a way to create a shortcut onto a win95-win98 client to stop and start the service without going into setting up a remote services for the server. It would compromise my server to allow access any other way. Thanks for any input.

You can use the client-based admin tools off of the Windows NT CD and run Server Manager from the client. This will let you manipulate the services on a remote NT machine...

Hope this helps... - Bill

Yes,
That would work, but what I had in mine was a shortcut, that would restrict the users. I am not ready to allow the services client to be run from this pc. The computer that needs the shortcut is in an area that has little or no security. I know that I can do it if I install workstation, but was hoping for another workaround. Thanks...a lot...
