At night BackupExec runs a batch file with net stop msexchangesa /y which stops the 4 exchange services we have running. After the backup another batch file runs with net start msexchangemta and net start msexchangeis. Both the MTA and IS will start the SA and DS. Backups seem to be working fine but the next morning only 2 or 3 people can log with Outlook. Everyone else gets an error message about licenses not being available. Have tried restarting these 4 services in various orders but still get license error. Have to reboot to make Exchange available to everyone.
This is Exchange 5.5 sp2 on SBS 4.5. >:-< There is a license issue addressed in sp3 & 4 but not ready to try that without a good understanding of the backup and restore process for exchange. Running BackupExec 7.3 for SBS.
