We have a couple of printservers, each with 110 printers+ installed, when a printer is off line, and someone tries to print to it we get the usual
"there was an error found when printing the document..." retry or cancel

If you click cancel, the job is deleted, if you click retry, you get the message back a couple of minutes later.

This can be annoying!

Does anyone know how to stop this message from appearing, i've scanned the internet, but can't find anything.

Contact the manufacurer about software that allows "parallel printing". When one printer is down, it redirects it to an online printer. Predetermined Priority can be set with the Admin. That is, where to redirect the job.
The only ones I know of like HP or Ricoh are propriatary in that you can only use that feature if it is all the same manuf.

I dont want the jobs to be redirected, I want them to wait until the printer is ready. In most cases it is simply that the user has switched the printer off, or it has run out of paper, they would struggle to cope with their jobs coming off elsewhere.

I just want to stop the messages.
