Hi

We have LJ 4000's and 4300's packed with different paper types in each try but all A4, the default tray is Tray 4 with Plain White.

Occasionally we are emailed documents which are Letter sized or Identification that we have scanned in which could be credit card sized.

The 4000 automatically prints these on tray 1; letterhead. The 4300's prompt 41.3 Unexpected Paper Size and prompts to use manual feed, users being users just press ok so that their own print out gets out of the printer.

Is there any method of forcing the default tray 4 for these items?

Thanks
B

On the LJ 4000 there is a function "Override A4/Letter=on or off" in the paper handling menu on the printer.
On the LJ 4300 you will find the same option under "Configure Device" -> "Printing".
Also make sure you have set the manual feed to off unless you want the printer to auto pick from tray 1 when it's loaded with media.

Hi

Thank you for your post.

Sorry for the delay in replying, would the override function be set to Off or On?

Thanks
B

If the setting Override A4/Letter=On the printer should ignore letter sized printjobs and treat them as if they were A4 (autoscale to adjust to paper size)
