This is a very basic question, I have my first PIX and i recently turned on logging (logging console 7) and now the output is scrolling so fast i cant turn it off. There's no break for me to enter a command. I've searched for some key combination to stop it but i cant find anything. Any help is appreciated.

You can keep typing the commands and it will work. The pix remembers what you typed even though it has gone one scrolling. You can also paste the command (or sequences) and that will work as well.

Two other methods - disconnnect it from everything so there are no messages being created or you can perform a password recovery on it and enter the commands then.

I've tried typing the commands in manually while the logging is flying by on the screen but it doesnt make it stop

i opened notepad, typed in the following lines

no logging console 7
no logging
no logging on
no logging console
no logging buffered
no logging monitor

copied them, then from hyperterm hit edit -> past to host
but nothing happened

ive seen someone do it without having to disconnect everyone from the internet, which is what i need since this is a rather large network

thanks

had you logged in and in config mode

enable
[your password]
conf t
no logging on
no logging console
