I had 2 NT-4 Workstations BSOD at first boot this AM. These 2 Compaq SP750 Workstations were both updated with Norton Antivirus CE vers 7.61.928 yesterday and not re-booted until startup today. The update was done via SMS.
The exact error message is:
STOP:0xc0000005,0xa00c299b,0x00000001,0x00000000.KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED ADDRESS a00c299b has base @ a000000-WIN32.SYS
I did some research and the only thing I found was info on a backdoor.nthack trojan horse virus. Since our antivirus is always updated and we are behind a good firewall that filters out things very well it makes me wonder if Norton is not the problem. I have users on other computers that were updated and are working fine, but these 2 computers are the only ones on NT4.0 SP6.
Can anyone give me any ideas on this one. Please keep in mind that neither one of these will boot.
Thanks for any help in advance!
