I am trying to install windows 2000 on an older AcerPower 6100. I have upgraded the BIOS according to their website (although the version did not change, that's fishy). During the install, after the first reboot with the Windows 2000 splash screen, the scroll bar gets to the end and I get a stop error c0000221 Bad image checksum. It also says
"image olesvr32.dll is possibly corrupt". Microsoft says this means that the file is corrupt but no files except from the install cd have been loaded.

Not sure where to go from here. Windows NT 4.0 loads just fine.

sounds like a microsoft mishap, you may want to try and reinstalling it, if it happens again, something is wrong with the ram.

also if you upgraded your bios to a new version and its not showing a new version then something went wrong with that also, be carefull if you are going to flash it again. but try reloading win2000 again, you will probly be ok.

sounds like a hardware issue of some kind - may just be something not compatible with 2k, or could be faulty hardware (may be RAM - but could be anything. As NT installs, compatibility sounds more likely - might be useful).

You could try disconnecting sound, modem and network cards for the install (if there are any - or disabling if onboard).
