I cannot get past the stop error 00000050 when booting up XP on an IBM thinkpad X20. I am forst getting the advanced startup options screen, and then whatever mode is selected (ie safe, last good etc) am getting the stop error, which is also quoting ntfs.sys. Can boot with a 98 boot floppy, but as the HDD is in NTFS, can't access the C: drive. Also, the CD ROM is a USB device and I can't pick this up as a bootable, so cannot boot with the XP CD and choose repair. Any ideas??
