Users have the Outlook MM client for listening to voicemail. A lot of users are getting messages when they log in to Voicemail that they have Email, sometimes in the hundreds of messages. They dont' have any way to get to those messages.

The two ways that I can think of that those messages are getting there are

1)someone clicks reply after listening to a voicemail. It doesn't work but it could create a trash message, maybe?

2)Someone clicks New in Outlook while their Avaya account is highlighted instead of the corporate mailbox.

Has anyone else run into this? I don't have any idea what the email system inside the voicemail system is for except for notifications and this Outlook client.

I assume that you are using an MSS as the message store?
The MSS is an email system. This can be many things making this happen. If they are using the client in outlook they should be able to see the emails in the Avaya account. Or if they use the web client.

This can be auto reply messages or someone hitting reply and sending an email to the users Voicemail email address.
