Pease help got this error while trying to re-install XP-Pro service pack 2. cant do nothing, it will not even run in "safe mode". It just keeps giving me that error on a blue screen nothing else pleae help!!!!

Your drive manufacturer will have free diagnostic software to thoroughly check out the condition of your hard drive. This software is self-bootable, do you have a floppy drive, you may need to put it CD otherwise.

Resetting the Bios to any Safe Default setting or seeing if there is a Bios Update might help?

TY And yes I do got a Floppy Drive, but what do you mean by "put it CD otherwise"?
And how would I be able to get a free dianostic software, I can go onto the internet with it at all:-(

Don't worry about the CD bit as you have the more straight forward Floppy drive option.

If you know the make of your hard drive go to the manufacturers web site from any other working computer and download the software. Create the Bootable Floppy on that machine or any working machine with a Floppy drive and then boot the Floppy on the broken machine.

If you don't know your brand of hard drive, the more common hard drive manufacturers will probably be able to assist anyway, with a generic piece of software, but it is best to get the real manufacturer's software.
