I was out of the office on Monday and
Tuesday and when I got back yesterday we were(are) having
major issues with the server.

We were given a switch to use by out IT dept. After it was hooked up,
we started getting an error on the server. I do not know if
the switch could possibly be the cause of the problem or not,
but as far as I know, it was the only change that happened
right before the problems started happening(Like I said, I was not here).

The error message that we were getting was:
STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The session manager system process terminated unexpectedly
with a status ....

I did a repair of Server 2003. Now the computer starts up and
then all or a sudden re-starts without an error message.

any ideas on how to fix this?

Try safe mode. If you are able to login check the event viewer.

Can you get the server to boot to the login screen with out rebooting in normal mode? If not can you do it in safe mode with networking support?

If you can don't login in to the server and leave it at the login screen. Install the admin pack on an XP pc. Then use the tools to connect to the event log on the server and see if that will give you any info.

problem is, the computer restarts no matter what. i don't have to log in. if i don't do anything, it restarts after about 20 secs or so.

Are you doing any software mirroring by any chance?

IIRC a while ago there was a virus that caused this problem, but I cannot remember which one.

I'm having this same problem after applying windows updates...i'm still working on fixing it.
Let me know if you come up with something, please!

I had to restore my system ASR,thank god i set it up that way. It was painless!
Windows updates is now OFF!!!
