Stop browsing network from 'open' dialogue

How do I prevent users from browsing the network using UNC paths and drive letters from Microsoft Word etc? They cannot do it from Windows Explorer but the group policies do not seem to apply to the 'open' dialogue in Word or other applications. I have edited a system.adm file to only give access to drives D: and Q: which works perfectly except for the above scenarios.

Any help MUCH appreciated
