I have a web page that is loaded on started up which has a scrolling message on the bottom of it. It works fine until someone open a web page using a link on there desktop or somewhere else. The page they double click on is loaded into the page. Is there a way were if a user double clicks a link it will open in a new window and not in my customised page.

If I understand your problem correctly, you don't want the current window to be reused when user clicks on the link outside that browser/page that will appear in the browser. If that is what you want, you have to know that is a per browser setting and you cannot control it for all the clients. For IE, you can change the setting in:

Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Browsing -> Reuse windows for launching shortcuts

This value must be unchecked if you want every outside link (shortcut, outlook url, word url) open in a new window.

Hope it helps.

Exactly what I wanted. but can this be done programmatically without having to go around changing this setting on all computers

Thanks

Simon
