STK 9714 Displays FSC #3096

after replcaing the stk controller main board to stop persistent NT SCSI errors [replaced dlt \ scsi cables \ boards \ terminator previously]now getting

INOP - FSC #3096
MECH = Z

upon reboot. Double checked all connections to board. They seem fine.

Hope someone here can advise what this error means as i cannot find any reference to it though i think it relates to the robot arm. tek-tips has saved me in the past, hope you can do it again.

check there is no obstruction inside the library. It sounds as though the Z motor movement is not working.
Have you put a known good PRC card into the unit. Try putting the old board back in and see if the fault disappears. If it does then your new board might be faulty.

yes - putting the old board back in 'fixed' it. very galling. thanks for the note though.
