PERRYPJ was right, I needed a null modem adapter. Have gotten in,even though it didn't like my logon/password. I get a list of options display but can't go beyond that. Is there a Customer Document available? Right now all we want to do is set the clock and change the Auto Attendant message. I am totally lost.

IF YOU CAN POST THE OPTIONS DISPLAY, I NEED TO SEE WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT

I doubt you "got in" to anything without a password, unless you connected yourself to some kind of wierd port I've never played with before...

I assume you're using 'sysadmin' for your login.

If not, from the 'list of options' you are getting (which I assume has stuff like Broadcast, Techview, Activate, etc) try entering in a 'c' for your command. if that works and you get a prompt that looks like SVI> then enter 'sa' for your command and see if that takes you were you can get into administration.

If that works, you shouldn't be logging in with the login and password you have. Yes, you can get things done with that login but the command structure is a lot different and it is harder to find documentation on what's going on there... you can still type 'sa' to get into system administration, but it's not the ideal way to get in there.

If you login as sysadmin you go right to the administration menus without having to wade through any other junk....

Thanks guys. I will try your ideas tomorrow and see where I get. Will advise later.

HEllo,
I have a similar problem. I can get into the SE by using tech and field, but can't log into it using sysadmin. It takes the username, but I don't know the password. Is there a way to reset it?? Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When you get in through TECH FIELD, type SA and go into System Parameters and change the SA password
