Hello people =)

Ok, so here's the deal. I have a macro planted in excel which, upon hitting a button, imports raw data from an Outlook email and sticks it into the form on the spreadsheet. Now I'm trying to add one more thing. Upon hitting the button I want the macro to also stick a sequential number into a cell on the spreadsheet. Someone told me that this is possible by using a text file and reading/writing numbers to it. Does anyone know how to start coding something like this?

Thanks,
Jisoo22

Could you just store the number in one of the cells and then have your macro increase the cell value by one each time the button is clicked? Store300

Yeah that might work. Any idea how to do that? =)

Doh, nevermind! Actually I do need it stored in a text file then then referred to whenever you hit the button. Ideas? =)

Thanks

It get a bit messy but it may be worth checking out the VBA help on Print & Write, both of which create text files in different ways.
If you have any problems with them give me a shout. Store300
