steps to create a new instance in solaris

Hi

I am new to DB2 , moved from Oracle.

I have installed DB2 database v8.1 on solaris with default instance db2inst1.

Now i want to create a new instance for Development.
1. What are the step to create a new Instance.
2. Do we need to follow any steps before creating an instance.
3. what are the default values used when we give the command.

db2icrt -s ESE -u fenceduser db2inst2

4. Where it will create instance directory folders.

5 . Is it compulsary to connect as root user for creating instance or can we do it while connected as DASuser.
