Hi, we have a Smart-UPS X 3000 rated at 230 Volts for some unix equipment. We would like to safely plug in some lower voltage devices to this also. We did try using a 100-250V power extension cord but I blew the power supply on one computer with that. APC suggested a step-down transformer, but they don't have one compatible with this unit. Any suggestions would appreciated.

You do understand a cable is nothing but WIRE? Why would you think it would do anything to the voltage? My suggestion, would be to just get different power supplies that allow you to switch them from 110v to 230v, they make them, or they are auto detecting, and will auto switch internally, or get a second ups that outputs 110v.
