I need to make a stencil that has several text boxes, with lines around them. Half of them need to be allowed to be edited in the drawing, and the other half need to be static labels that cannot be changed. Also I want the lines so that text cannot be added to them. How do you make object that text cannot be added to them?

Thanks!

In Visio 2000, select the shape(s), click on Window -> Show Shape Sheet, then scroll down to the "Protection" section, and for Lock TextEdit change the value to 1 (for True). Close the Shap Sheet by clicking on the "X" in the upper right corner. When a user attempts to double-click on the shape to enter the text mode, they will receive a message box stating that shape protection prevents execution of the command.
