I had a bmp file in which I hid a txt file. Anybody know why the resulting file is only bigger by 2 bits than the original file? Or at least what the extra bits are?

Thanks

There is generally a lot of redundant data in an image, especially when you are dealing with ? 24-bit RGB images. It will vary depending on the image type, size, etc.

Perhaps the key? Or it was not possible to fit it all in?

Doesn't hiding a file inside an image generally give you a key/password?

text was too large for the format. that is how most steg files are discovered.
