Hi. I have a Dell 4400 Desktop PC 1.6GHz 40GB Hard Drive, 384MB RAM and a Diamond Stealth III S540 video card. I partitioned my drive so I could run either W98 or XP (games issue really, my wife wants to be able to play the old activision arcade games and it won't run on XP, not even in compatability mode, but that's another issue) The video card works fine on XP with full acceleration, but with 98 it locks up if any of the levels of hardware acceleration are enabled.

I've tried the original drivers, different drivers, updated drivers, but still locks up when hardware acceleration is enabled.

By the way, it locks up right after displaying the W98 logo at startup.

Anybody have a magic driver out there for me?

What resolution are you set up for? It's possible that Win 98 won't run on that resolution.

Thanks for the reply.

Have you tried to boot up in 98 and reinstsll the drivers for your board?

A good source for wacky, uncommon drivers is "Driverguide.com". Use "drivers" for username and "all" for password.
