I am looking for a funtion to allow me to steal a call currently being handled (speaking) on an extension on our BCM 400 PABX by another extension.

eg - Steal call on Xtn 102 for Xtn 231.

Ideally this would be a dial string, but a function on our server that client PC software could call would be acceptable.

I believe the Avaya systems allows this through the *45 #102# function.

Has anyone done this or know of a solution on the BCM 400?

If you mean answer a ringing call on another extension it is called Pickup- directed press feature 76 and the extension to answer the call at another set.
If you mean while on a call already then no, it would have to be transfered.

Yes - I want to steal while it is on a call; can't transfer because the call has been answered by a machine (not a TAPI device). P.

You can turn privacy off on the lines and then you can get on call while the other phone is on same call. But no stealing.
