I have a USB 54G LINKSYS WIRELESS and WRT54G Router. In my office building we have line 5 people with routers. My XP computer keeps jumping from router to router in the building. How do I stop my XP clients from jumping from wireless roter to wireless router?
I am new to wireless so sorry if this question is
easy to answer.

First, make sure that Service Pack 1 is installed on all machines.

Second, update all machines with the Wireless Rollup:
Third, on the router, create a unique SSID and set it to broadcast. Enable WEP or WPA.

Fourth, configure your clients so that only your router is the only or the top most defined 'Preferred' Network. That the client connects only to Access Points that are secured. Enable WEP or WPA to match the router settings. In addition, set the clients to G-only mode.

thanks for the info, I will try that to day at work and let you know
