status services command

Is there a command that will status a specific service? NET Start or NET Stop will start and stop a service. Is ther something like this to status/inquiry of the service to see if it is running?
 
Sort by date Sort by votes
typing just : " net start " will show you the list of services running ...

I am sure that there are some utilities in resourse kit to do so ...
