STATUS.DAT ERROR

We have a Peach company on a network drive (Samba Server) and users are starting to get a message that says "You have exceeded the number of locks in STATUS.DAT" onscreen in PCAW80. This file is in the \peachw root and not specifically associated with any given company as far as I can see. Anybody ever hear of this error message and have any idea how I might remedy it? We have a full networked license.

Critical.. I keep restoring an olde version of this file from tape to get things done.. getting dicey

Also, once this error occurs, nobody can get in? Even after rebooting the workstations?
