Status(CurrentGroups) wrongly returns all groups!

I have found a crippling bug in Filemaker 5, 5.5 and 6, where Status(CurrentGroups), which is supposed to return the groups that the current user is a member of, returns all groups in the database. Makes it difficult to customize the user experience.

Anyone found a good, secure work around?
