my CEO has two phones, one on desk and one on table. They have the same PDN and rollover. I have to change his table phone and don't want to cut him off should he happen to be using it. When I stat his desk TN it shows BUSY. But so does his desk phone TN. I don't think he's actually talking on two phones simultaneously. Is the information shown below accurate as far as whether the table phone is in use or not?

I think STATing the TN's, both will still come up busy. Go in and unplug the phone on the table. Then IDU both TN's in ld 20. The switch should see one but not the other. Whichever it doesn't see is the one you unplugged. Also, if the phone is unplugged, this will prevent the CEO from making a call on this phone while you are in the process of making changes.

Once you figure it out, go into LD 85 and change the DES for these two phones. One could be "desk" the other "conf". This way you won't have the confusion in the future.

Some CEO's don't want to be bothered so you can go to ld 80 and "trac" the tn and find out which is actually being used. It looks like you already know which one is which.
