Greetings everyone,

We have a NEC 192 (S8000) in our business here. Recently, one of our people had enquired about getting an IP phone that would give him some options and/or mobility.

Has anyone here got any past experience with IP telephony, particularly with the NEC 192 product? I came across some docs that says S8500 starts to support the IP Station (MEGACO) with the IAD(8)-U10 ETU and IP-R(IPK) units.

Please post your experience and/or recommendations with this type of VOIP application here. I am intrigued if this would be a good option for us.

Thanks.

Looks like you have what you need with the exception of documentation.

may have the manuals for this.

IPk setup for IP seems to be pretty simple. I have setup two in lab and only tough thing was upgrading IAD card.

I would scrap the idea of going with the IAD. The IP Processor (CPUI) and Media Gateway (MG) card have just been released, and this will eventually be the standard for IP on the Elite system.
