I have a spreadsheet formatted with alternating colors for the rows. When I update the content of the rows, I'd like the colors to stay the same. This doesn't work when I need to insert rows. Is there a way to do this?

Take a look at faq68-4744 to color your rows. Then inserting new rows should take on the formatting.

hi,

If your have Excel 2007, it is like owning a high-performance race car.

However, your question lead me to believe that your are driving your car like a grandma on the weekly drive to the post office.

You need to look at the Insert > Tables > Table Structured Table feature, which has all kinds of alternating color shading options at a mere click, just to name a MINOR feature.

Stick around here at Tek-Tips and you'll get a lot more good tips.
