Static Route Entry

Hi all !

How can i add static route entries in solaris ? I am able to add it using route add command , but the problem is that when i reboot , it disappears , any ideas on making these routes permanent ;otherthan putting the route add command in a startup script.

I believe you can use /etc/defaultrouter to list one or more default routes you want to take. Check the man page and see if that is what you are looking for.

As ptwork said /etc/defaultrouter can be used for the default route, but if you want to add another route put the command you use to manually add the route in /etc/rc3.d
and call it something like S99routeadd and it will load each time the system boots up.
