I am working on a BCM 400 with 3.7 software. My customer is having a problem where the connected party on the phone complains they can't hear what the person at my customer's site is saying. The problem doesn't happen so much when the person on the phone speaks at a normal volume but as soon as the person raises their voice a little bit, the line breaks up so much that the conversation is impossible to understand. Their PRI carrier said the BCM needs to have its levels adjusted but as far as I know and some other people I have talked to have told me the same that there is nothing to adjust on the BCM. I was at the site the other day and I was able to duplicate the problem several times and then it seemed to stop and then started happening again before I left.
They had just recently switched carriers because they were having a terrible time with their old carrier with the T-1 dropping constantly for hours at a time. The T-1 is coming over copper to the site just like the old circuit was so could it just be that they are in a bad area.
They also have 3 ordinary cordless phones (home type) hooked up to an ASM module and they said the problem doesn't happen so much with those phones. Could the problem be with the 7316's and not the circuit?
The owner is screaming about losing business and I definitely don't want to be the cause of that.
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
