On a M7310 ver 21 and 23 I have seen static when accessing an analog line. Accessing digital lines don't demonstrate this problem. It is seen with the same phones across KSU types(CICS, MICS and 8x24). It is also seen with other fresh phones of this version, though the static level can vary. I was just re-visited with this senario just now. I originally saw this some time ago but never got a satisfactory solution then. Any information would be appreciated. darnold@americaii.com

This is intresting... do you mean anolog as in a C.O.? and digital as in a PRI?

sure it's not the culrycord? j/k ~Will Nortel soon be NoTel??~

Digital lines, ie... T1 or PRI yes, and just plan old POTs. The LS/DS lines are the issue...basic trouble shooting was done.... beat that dog to death. Different locations....

Thanks though:) darnold@americaii.com

Nortel was supposed to have a fix with the so called "Global Trunk Cartridge", but it never fixed the problem with static on analog lines. The only fix is with PRI. You have to know it is not the phone when the 7310's (or any..and any version) work fine with PRI but not analog. The newer "T" phones help a little by cutting down on some of the static, but you are fighting a battle you won't win on analog lines. Just ask anyone who has installed a CICS into a custom home only to pull the system eventually because of poor call quality.

It is mainly in the analog to digital conversion.

Good luck!
