I've got kumbuntu running as not much more than a file server. There are two ethernet cards in the machine, one with a static IP of 10.1.1.254 and the other of 192.168.1.254. This machines purpose is to serve files on two different networks.
The two networks are seperated by two Linksys routers. One network is for in store use only, the other is for customer use only. The linux box serves files just fine (Other than a glitch) between the two networks.
My question is, since I have this machine setup with static IP addresses, the DHCP server never speaks to the machine, so both routers never update their hostname lists. Do I need to install a DHCP server on the linux box for this to work, and disable the two Linksys DHCP servers, or is there another server I can install on the Linux box that'll let me get the other Windows machines to resolve the linux boxes host name?
