Hi, can anyone tell me something about configuring a workstation so it wil function as a static gateway? We are working with a Pervasive.SQL workgroup engine on our Netware network.
The problem is that in a Netware network we can't work with static gateways, even though we've adjusted it in the Gateway locator.

What are we doing wrong? Thanx for any help. Robbert van Spronsen

Go to the workstation you want to run the engine that will act as the gateway to the data on the NetWare server. Make sure the engine auto-loads from the Start-up menu.

Load up PCC and select the local machine. Then, from the Tools menu, select the Gateway Locator utility. Browse to your NetWare directory with your data, and then use the Change button to set the current machine as the gateway for that directory. Leave the "Permanent" box checked. Do this for any directory containing data that is related to the application that will be using this workgroup engine.

As a result of this, you should end up with a read-only file called ~PVSW~.LOC in each data directory. If you look in these text files, they should have the machine name of the workstation that will be running the engine.

Now, every other workstation that will be accessing the workgroup engine just needs to be configured with "Use Remote MicroKernel Engine" = On. This is done via PCC under that machines Client configuration in the "Access" group.
