Hello,

is anybody able to tell me, in which way I'm capable of finding out the state of a cleaning cartridge (number of cleaning sessions) - installed at Fujitsu Siemens Ultrium Tape Library 3583, controlled by Legato Networker 6.1?

Thanks in advance!

I think you are better to send this question to the forum

Thanks for your comment. In the meanwhile I've been able to solve it.

You didn't mention a specific OS, but here's two ways to check it on a Solaris 8 server running 6.1.3 with an autochanger:

1. nsrjb | grep ###slot number of cleaning tape

Example: nsrjb | grep 560

2. From the nwadmin GUI, select a drive and then select mount. This will bring up the list of tapes and which slots they're in. Scroll until you find the cleaning tape.

sysadv,

could you please share your experience. I looked up the man
pages - the only location i could think of is the jukebox
resource (nsr_jukebox) but i did not find an appropriate
field. Thank you.

Hello,

I've only found one way ... the one, kcongdon has alreay described. The manuals 've not been very helpful. I caught the sight of a comment, written down by a former work-mate.
