Hi,

I'm new to Linux and managed to do a dual-boot install of fedora Core 3.
I can login as root, no problem, but when I do startx, it seems to load, but I only get 2 windows, one terminal window and xclock. I was expecting to at least have the Fedora equivalent of a start button and some other desktop items. Do I need to run or install something additional?

Thanks.

You have X working, now you need a desktop manager like KDE or Gnome or ?

Thanks LawnBoy.
When I installed fedora I had theis screen where I could select what to install. Is there a way of getting into that screen again without reinstalling the lot?

Make sure you have the system-config-packages package installed. Then under X, run the command system-config-packages.
