In Win 98 you could access in system information the applications that were checked off to start up with each boot. You could uncheck them if you didn't want them to start and recheck them if you changed your mind.(Some of these programs weren't in the actual startup folder). There doesn't seem to be that same option in XP. Is there a straightforward way to view the startup applications without having to go to the registry?

Try typing MSCONFIG in the run box and selecting "Start Up" in the resulting window.

Thanks Linney, that's exactly what I was looking for!
