I have a clone PC, running dual boot into NT4 and Win98. I cannot start the system, no beeps on startup

the system will work during the day, but at some point, it will freeze up in NT and chkdsk would occur upon rebooting, a freeze would occur again and therefore would need a cold bootup which leads to the system not starting at all

is it a virus or hard drive or motherboard\BIOS or power supply issue?

Have you tried the following:

1.Start off boot disk(s) and run a thorough scandisk on drives.

2.Boot(if possible) into the command promt and run a thourough scandisk on your drives?

3. Start off boot disk(s) and run your emergency repair disk. (you have one don't you?)

Good luck and hope this is a help.

Run during the day and die at night? NT only or die during either? What CPU and power supply? There are clues there but more is needed. Can be overheating, overextending the PS, memory. CPU, or motherboard for starters.
