Have an ACCESS DB that has a lot of code (new) in a form in the ON Open event. I have set the DB to start up with that form because I want to have it run automatically from an Excel pivot table. However, in my haste to debug a problem, I mistakenly ran the code in the on open event. The problem is that the code never finishes, or the program is not responding. Naturally, I don't have a back up. So, is there a way of interrupting or stopping the beast at the start from running away so I don't have to redo the code. (The best lessons are learned the hard way.)

Thanks

Did you try Ctrl+Break to interrupt the code ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

This question should really be asked in an Access forum. However, have you tried holding down a shift key while you open the Access file? If this doesn't resolve your issue, please repost in Microsoft: Access Modules.

Back again: The first bit of code relinks the tables that are on a local server--could just turn the server off, then run the app and get an error message. Would that let me get into the application?
