awk: cmd. line:2: fatal: cannot open file '/proc/mounts' for reading (No such file or directory)

That error comes up at startup and it drops me to a shell. Being a newbie, I'm lost.

I am running Red Hat 9 and the only thing I installed was Pure-FTPD and I changed some configurations with Apache HTTPD. I rebooted and got this.

Anyone have any ideas ??? ... pleease

Is there a line like

none /proc proc defaults 0 0

in your fstab?

Cheers

I too am a newbie to Linux, and I'm getting the same message, sort of.
