starting with weblogic 8.1

hi
i am using an application server for the firs time i have downloaded weblogic 8.1 . now i am confused like do u start the weblogic server by typing some port address in the url ( when i downloaded it did not give any choice for port no)

i just blindly typed

http://localhost:7001

( but its not running

or can u tell me how to start weblogic

like for tomcat u have to go to bin , then run the start.shp commnad then in url u type

http://localhost:8080

(do u do the same in weblogic) plz help me

You have downloaded weblogic 8.1 but have you actually installed it ? If not you need to download the installation manual and run through the install before attempting to start it.
