I am a complete newbie in Delphi.
I need to start making a small project with delphi - SQL Server 2000 soon.
Can anyone give some suggestions on how to start?

Buy a good book and work it through.
If you don't have any programming experience at all than you'll have to start at the base.

check out about.delphi.com

They have some good introductory courses online that should get you started.

Here are a couple of FAQs I wrote to get people started in Delphi:
faq102-3432 (coding standards)
faq102-2794 (books/websites)

Hope this helps

About.Delphi.com is a great resource. There are articles on just about everything! And they give very detailed instructions and code snippets. Great introduction!
