Hi,

I'm running 5.1SP5. Web Access was set up and configured by an outside vendor. It starts automatically when server is rebooted (or restarted). That's great, but how do I set up my multiple web servers (Netscape Enterprise WS) to automatically start on reboot/restart?

Thanks.

Hi,

Add the command nsweb in the autoexec.ncf file.

By the nswebdn unloads it.

Lou

I'm afraid that 'NSWEB' is already there.
The web manager portal is available, so IT'S starting,
but the HTTP servers I recently created require manual starts (from the NS EWS managment portal.)
Incidentally, the NSWEB.NCF does contain 'NXALLUP' .
So it seems that they should start, but simply don't.
Configuration problems, perhaps?

Thanks.

Hi,

If the modules are supposed to be loading through the NCF file and it is not loaded, then this means that it is erroring out. Try using the following method to troubleshoot the problem.

nswebdn
load conlog max=1000
nsweb
unload conlog
review the sys:etc\console.log for errors.

Lou

Good suggestion. I'll follow it up.

BTW, I notice the following reference to NSHTTPD being called in NVXWEBUP:

load nshttpd -d /novonyx/suitespot/https-webserver/config

My pitifully limited experience with Novell products tends to make me suspect that the above line references an .ncf (or such) in the suitespot/https-webserver/config subfolder. The subfolder ain't there (may have deleted it by mistake 18 months ago.) I have /novonyx/suitespot/and many subfolders, but no https-webserver/ or it's corresponding subs.
Do you think I'm on the right track? If so, what abouts should be the structure and content of the subfolder and its' files?

Thanks,
Dan

Hi again,

I'd say that, that's your problem. I just remotely looked a server with NWS installed and the config dir has lots of files. Can you restore them?

Lou

I can restore, but only from the NW5.1 CD.
In the file /PRODUCTS/NOVONYX/ENCONF.ZIP,
a Novonyx/suitespot/https-server dir (and its' files and subdirs) is present. What I think I'll try is to restore from this, delete my webservers, and re-create them. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks,
Dan

Lou, et al:

Yep, that did it.

Thanks a million,
Dan
