Starting Tomcat 4.1.12 standalone

Trying to install the binaries of Tomcat on Win 2K...

When I get to the instruction to type "startup" at TOMCAT_HOME\bin, I get another DOS window that flashes open and then closed, and then the following:

when I browse to

http://localhost:8080/

I get "Page cannot be displayed". I can start and stop Tomcat from the Services panel, but that doesn't seem to make a difference either.

Any ideas?
