I am running Microsoft Proxy Server 2 on a machine running under NT 2000 server. When the machine reboots the services associated with the proxy server- Socks Proxy, Default Web Site, ARPS, Web Proxy etc. won't start automatically.

Is there any way of starting these services automatically?

You should be able to go into Computermanagement/Services and set them to Automatic startup. If they are external, not service programs, you can use the scheduler to start them at boot, under settings/control panel.

Proxy services are dependent upon IIS. A setting of Automatic for Start Type doesn't necessarily force the service to start automatically at boot.

The Automatic setting is used to allow this service to start when needed or by another service which is dependent.

In your case, make sure your IIS Services are starting up at boot. or whatever you use. The specific Proxy service will start when the other specific IIS service starts.

Doug
dxd_2000@yahoo.com
