Starting saslauthd on Debian

I'm running Debian 5.0.3 and I'd like to get Cyrus-IMAP running on it. This is strictly to test migration off of Cyrus. I think I have everything installed, but saslauthd is not started. I'm new to Debian so I need to know how to get it installed/started. Libsasl2-2 is installed - is that what I need?

I can't login to the cyradm so I think it is saslauthd that is the problem.
