Starting Lotus Notes from Excel Vba

I need to start a Lotus Notes session which requires a password. I can successfully start a session and send the required Excel workbook but currently have to enter the PW manually. Presumably, this can be automated.

Is it also possible to close the Notes session after sending the file?
