Hi all,

I am a programmer and would like to learn various Data Mining Concepts and techniques and further pursue a career in the area. Pls advice on any books, links or starting points for a strong foundation. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Regarding resources, you can start with the data mining entry on Wikipedia. A good practitioner book is the one by Witten and Frank (Data Mining, 2005). If you're more interested about algorithms themselves, I advice the book by Tan et al. (Introduction to Data Mining, 2006). The site has many tutorials and white papers about data mining. Hope it helps.

Regards.
Sandro.
